'In attivita’ dal 2013, i Dolpo eseguono una musica sperimentale di derivazione drone-doom ispirata alla tradizione e alle strutture della musica sacra degli antichi ed oscuri culti dell’area nepalese, tibetana e nord indiana, usanze popolari magiche che sono nel tempo sono confunite nel culto sciamanico del Bön, nello shivaismo remoto e nel buddismo tibetano.
Da queste ancestrali pratiche rituali prendono una parte della strumentazione originale (tromboni telescopici in rame Dung-Chen, tromba in femore umano Kangling, Dung-Dkar, Rolmo, Dhyangro, Dorje bell) e il metodo di canto tipico dei cori tantrici dell’area culturale tibetana “Gyer”. A questa strumentazione accostano chitarre elettriche, basso, timpano e piatti, taishogoto, fauto overtone e field recordings registrati durante lunghi periodi di ricerca “sul campo”. Il risultato e’ una musica cupa, rumorosa, ambientale, che trasporta la mente dell’ascoltatore dal familiare ambiente urbano del rock club, fino ad inaccessibili luoghi sacri sulle desolate cime della catena dell’Himalaya, lungo i solitari percorsi battuti dagli Yak.
Non un semplice concerto. Un rito iniziatico.'
